Don’t want to see what’s on their wall? Don’t go there. Removing temptation doesn’t help — especially if you will go to the lengths of signing into someone else’s Facebook. Don’t want to see what they’re posting? Just take them off your wall so their postings don’t show up in your news feed. My ex doesn’t want to talk to me or Facebook friend me. That’s his prerogative. But then, his mother shouldn’t have tried to friend me, since even though I did not accept her friend request, I can see anything that’s on her wall any time I want, just by keeping the friend request pending (which it has been for almost two years so I can see photos of my former nieces and nephews). And because the ex and I have one mutual friend (someone I haven’t spoken to in five years), I can see his wall any time I want. So go ahead and do the big step of defriending if you want, but it’s purely for drama’s sake, not because it’s any sort of effective at ending contact.
